Portuguese club Sporting CP have reached an agreement with Barcelona for Francisco Trincao. The winger will be making the move back to his home country on a loan deal, and Sporting will have an obligation to buy the player for a €10 million fee.
The Spanish side have also included a buyback clause in his contract which is valid for three years. The youngster will be signing a contract until 2027 with the Portuguese club when his loan move is eventually made permanent.
Sporting CP sign Francisco Trincao from Barcelona
The 22-year-old spent the 21/22 season on loan in the Premier League with Wolves. He failed to nail down a starting spot at the Molineux and has now returned to Camp Nou. But, Xavi does not see the youngster as a part of his plans this season. As a result, he is being moved on to make room for new players to come in.
Francisco Trincao will be reuniting with Ruben Amorim, who brought him through at Braga before he made the move to Spain. And now, the pair will be reuniting in white and green in a matter of days.
There is hope that the talented manager will be able to bring out the best in the young winger once again. He hasn’t been able to nail down a starting spot in the last few seasons, but there is optimism that he will be able to regain his composure this year.
