Fortnite could make a return on Apple via Nvidia GeForce

With the launch of a web client that allows users to play games using web browsers, the mobile gaming platform is taking the next step in cloud gaming. Gamers can now play the titles which are unavailable on Apple devices. They can use their browsers on Apple mobile and then can play their games using Safari. It could very well mean that we can see the advent of Fortnite on Apple after many months.

The was pulled from Apple’s online store in mid-August after developer Epic Games released an update that dodges revenue sharing with the iPhone maker. Since then, both companies are locked in a legal battle.

Now Nvidia has developed a version of its GeForce Now cloud gaming service that runs on Apple’s browser. It allows for games to be played directly using Safari. Users don’t have to worry about the title is available on the App store.

Nvidia stated that “GeForce NOW is streaming on iOS Safari, in beta, starting today. That means more than 5 million GeForce NOW members can now access the latest experience by launching Safari from the iPhone or iPad.”

The green team also promised Fortnite players that they would soon be able to use Apple mobile devices, but there is a delay before Epic finalizes its touch-friendly version.

Nvidia further stated that “We’re looking forward to delivering a cloud-streaming Fortnite mobile experience powered by GeForce NOW. Members can look for the game on iOS Safari soon.”

Epic and Apple are fighting over whether Apple’s control of the App Store and its 30 percent cut of revenue is a monopolistic behavior or not. A trial to resolve the dispute is due until next year.
