Gomez spent most of his career in Italy, most prominently for Atalanta between September 2014 and January 2021. He was moved on two years ago after a row with manager Gian Piero Gasperini, and went on to play for Sevilla. For La Dea, he scored 59 goals and provided 72 assists in 252 games while helping them become European regulars.

He also won the Europa League with Sevilla while scoring 10 goals and providing six assists in 90 games. Now, he will be signing a contract until the end of the season with Monza which will see him take on a new chapter in his career. His deal will be a short term one, running until the end of the 23/24 season.

Monza are currently 15th in the table with six points from as many games.
