# Ford F-150 Lightning EV could power a house for days | Powerful EV-battery capabilities

There is a silent revolution that is going on in the electric vehicle manufacturing segment, as some carmakers are looking to expand access to clean and sustainable power to homes via an EV.

The[Ford-F150](https://technosports.co.in/?s=Ford+F-150) Lightning is the latest EV that will provide an option of extending power to homes through its bi-directional power system. Ford claims that the F-150 Lightning can light a house for up to 72 hours.

The company claims that the F-150 Lightning was the first electric pickup truck that can power homes. [Ford](https://technosports.co.in/?s=Ford) has said that it is the first to offer functionality of this kind in its vehicles to customers.

BYD recently announced a Type A all-electric school bus that provides such a bi-directional power solution to schools across the US.

Ford has announced that it will enter into a working partnership with a US Solar power company, Sunrun that will offer the backup power feature to F-150 Lightning customers. The pickup truck’s onboard battery capability will be utilized with respect to this.

The F-150 Lightning extended range battery system can store up to 131 kWh power and deliver up to 9.6kW for several days. It is a comparatively cleaner option than gasoline or diesel generators.

The F-150 Lightning home charging solutions include an 80-amp Ford Charge Station Pro and Home Integration System, which enables the F-150 Lightning to store and innovatively supply power to homes.

It automatically powers homes as soon as the power goes out using the Ford Intelligent Backup Power and Home Integration System. It also reverts once power gets restored to the home, US customers are excited by the power solutions offered by the Ford F-150 Lightning.
