In the list of five footballers with the most trophies in their career, there are some big names along with some surprising names.

5. Maxwell – 38 trophies

The former Brazilian left-back Maxwell played for some top European clubs during his football career. He played for the Dutch club Ajax, Italian club Inter Milan, Spanish club Barcelona and French club Paris Saint-Germain along with Brazilian club Cruzeiro and Italian club Empoli (on loan).

Maxwell won 38 trophies for his teams during his football career. His most trophies came for Paris Saint-Germain, where he won 15 trophies.

4. Hossam Ashour- 39 trophies

Though the Egyptian defensive midfielder Hossam Ashour isn’t a much familiar name in world football, he is one of the most successful players in the world for a club.

The Egyptian club Al Ahly legend Ashour won 39 trophies for his club before moving to another Egyptian club Al Ittihad in late 2020.     

3. Lionel Messi – 41 trophies

The Argentine football legend Lionel Messi is one of the greatest players in world football history who is holding the record for most Ballon d’Or trophies (seven times). So, there is no doubt about Messi’s position on this list.

In his senior career, Messi has won 41 trophies for his teams. Out of those, he won four trophies in his national team jersey (FIFA World Youth Championship 2005 for Argentina U20, Summer Olympics 2008/Beijing 2008 for Argentina U23, Copa America 2021 and Finalissima 2022).

While Messi is a Barcelona legend, he won 35 trophies for the Spanish La Liga giants (10 La Ligas, 8 Supercopa de Espana, 7 Copas del Rey, 4 UEFA Champions Leagues, 3 UEFA Super Cups and 3 FIFA Club World Cups).          

For his present French club Paris Saint-Germain, Messi has already won two trophies (Ligue 1 2021/22 and Trophee des Champions 2022).

2. Andres Iniesta – 46 trophies

The Spanish legend Andres Iniesta is one of the greatest midfielders in football history. He has already won 39 trophies for his teams.

Iniesta won five trophies for the Spanish national team. Apart from winning the UEFA Euro Cup 2008 and 2012, he was also a key member during Spain’s first FIFA World Cup trophy in 2010. He was also a member of the UEFA European U16 Championship 2001 (Spain U16) and the UEFA European U19 Championship 2002 (Spain U19).

The Barcelona legend Iniesta won 39 trophies for the Spanish club. He has also won two trophies for his Japanese club, Vissel Kobe.      

1. Dani Alves – 49 trophies

Brazilian right-back Dani Alves is one of the greatest full-backs of all time. The legendary footballer has won 49 trophies for his teams.

Alves won six trophies for his national team. Apart from two Copas America (2007, 2019) and two FIFA Confederation Cups (2009, 2013), he also won FIFA World Youth Championship 2003 (Brazil U20) and Summer Olympics 2020/Tokyo 2020 (Brazil U23).

Alves achieved success for his various clubs. These clubs are Brazilian Bahia and Sao Paulo, Spanish Sevilla and Barcelona, Italian Juventus, and French Paris Saint-Germain. The Barcelona legend won 26 trophies for the Catalan club.
