One of the biggest transport companies in the world, Flix, has said that it will increase FlixBus operations in India. In India, Flix intends to begin operating bus services in 2024. This year is the anticipated launch date for the first intercity green lines.

The organization, which claims to have Europe’s greatest long-distance bus network, is also present in the US, Canada, and Brazil. In 2018, the nation’s first green long-distance train and an all-electric long-distance bus pilot project both went into service. At the moment, it runs in 40 nations and reaches more than 5,500 locations worldwide.

All About FlixBus Expansion in India!

According to Flix, it intends to enter “one of the world’s largest bus markets” with its “unique business model.” In addition, it will begin FlixBus operations in Chile this year before India. India will join the Flix network as the 42nd nation. The business claimed that India had enormous growth potential for low-cost, environmentally friendly, and secure long-distance bus services, with a market size larger than that of Europe, Turkey, and North America put together.

Flix’s co-founder and CEO, André Schwämmlein, stated, “We are optimistic that our special business model, which involves collaborating with small and medium-sized local bus partners, and our technology for planning, booking operations, and pricing, would be a successful match also in India. We will create the most competitive bus network in this area by placing a heavy emphasis on standardization and safety. We are prepared to make large investments in the neighborhood market, generate employment, and pursue market leadership.”

By raising the bar and developing a competitive market offering, Flix pledges to give clients more dependable options. Every car in the fleet will receive the same level of maintenance from the company.  The global Flix fleet’s buses are thought to be 4-5 years old on average. The green buses provide free Wi-Fi, spacious seats with plenty of legroom, air conditioning, power outlets, and general cleanliness and safety to their passengers. The transport company claimed that FlixBus has a seat-reservation system in most nations and that it intends to roll it out across all of its markets.

“India is committed to alternate drives and is moving quickly towards a time when all forms of public transport use electricity. Flix now has the chance to establish infrastructure and continued development in this region, making it a significant local actor in the growth of a sustainable tourist economy,” according to André Schwämmlein. Flix also wants to boost the economy and create a sizable amount of employment in India. The business manages the technology, customer service, quality control, network planning, marketing, and sales, but the day-to-day operations and driver management are managed by Flix partners.

In India, the business has already begun the process of assembling a local team, and Surya Khurana has been named managing director. Khurana, who has extensive experience in the transport sector, will now hire for the Delhi-based team and search for regional bus partners. Flix has transported around 300 million passengers since its founding in 2013. It is the proprietor of Greyhound in North America, FlixBus, FlixTrain, and Kamil Koç in Turkey.
