Flipkart just redefined smartphone upgrades with an industry-first quick commerce innovation. The new smartphone exchange program on Flipkart Minutes enables customers to swap their old devices for new ones in under 40 minutes – complete with real-time valuation, doorstep pickup, and same-day value application across Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai.

## India’s First Hyperlocal Phone Exchange: Breaking New Ground

This launch positions Flipkart Minutes as India’s first hyperlocal platform offering real-time smartphone exchange at scale. The service addresses the growing demand for faster, more convenient smartphone upgrades while promoting circular consumption through sustainable re-commerce practices.

### Exchange Process: Seamlessly Simple

| **Step** | **Action** | **Time** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **1** | Select eligible smartphone & enter device details | 5 minutes |
| **2** | View instant valuation based on condition | Immediate |
| **3** | Exchange expert reaches doorstep | Within minutes |
| **4** | On-site evaluation, pickup & new purchase offers | Under 40 minutes total |

## Any Condition Accepted: Even Dead Phones Have Value

The program’s standout feature is accepting smartphones in **any condition, including completely defunct devices**. Customers can receive exchange value up to **50% depending on device condition**, making this accessible even for phones that seem worthless.

**“We’re bringing smartphone upgrades into quick-commerce, combining instant doorstep pickup, real-time exchange value, and a trusted refurbishment pipeline,”** said Kanchan Mishra, VP of Flipkart Minutes.

## Sustainability Meets Speed: Environmental Impact Focus

Beyond convenience, the program significantly reduces **long-haul logistics emissions** through hyperlocal collection. Each device gets a second life through responsible refurbishment or certified recycling via **Flipkart Reset**, supporting India’s transition toward sustainable consumption.

**Ashutosh Chandel, Senior Director of ReCommerce at Flipkart**, emphasized: **“By enabling near-instant, hyperlocal collection of used smartphones, we significantly reduce environmental impact while fostering responsible consumption.”**

## Technology Integration: Advanced Diagnostics

The fully integrated experience within the Flipkart Minutes app features **advanced diagnostics** that offer customers added assurance in the trade-in experience. Real-time device valuation eliminates guesswork, while expert evaluation ensures fair pricing.

## Market Expansion: Rolling Out Nationwide

Currently live in select PIN codes across three major metros, the service will expand to **all operational cities starting July**. This phased rollout allows Flipkart to refine operations before nationwide scaling.

## Strategic Positioning: Quick Commerce Evolution

This innovation represents quick commerce evolution beyond groceries and essentials into high-value electronics. The 40-minute turnaround time sets a new industry benchmark for smartphone exchange convenience.

## Bottom Line: Redefining Upgrade Experience

Flipkart Minutes’ smartphone exchange program combines speed, sustainability, and simplicity into a seamless upgrade experience. By accepting devices in any condition and completing exchanges in under 40 minutes, Flipkart is making technology upgrades more accessible while supporting environmental responsibility.
