Flipkart Announces Same-Day Delivery Service Rollout in India’s Major Cities

Flipkart, an e-commerce platform recently announced its plans to introduce a same-day delivery service, in regions of India. The company confirmed that a wide variety of products will be eligible for this shipping option. While an exact launch date hasn’t been specified Flipkart has provided a timeline for the rollout. Initially, the service will be available in cities before expanding to cover the nation.

All About Flipkart announcing Same-Day Delivery Service in 20 Major Cities

The official announcement was made on a Wednesday stating that users, in India would now have the option of same-day delivery starting from February. Initially, this service will be available in 20 cities, such as Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Coimbatore, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Patna, Raipur, Siliguri, and Vijayawada.

To avail of Flipkart’s same-day delivery option users must place their orders before 1 pm. By doing they can expect to receive their desired items before midnight. Any orders placed after 1 pm will be scheduled for delivery on the day.

Flipkart has plans to expand this service in the coming months to cater to a range of users across India. The company emphasizes that a diverse array of products including mobiles, fashion and beauty items, lifestyle products books home appliances, and electronics will qualify for same-day delivery.

In contrast, a key competitor in the e-commerce sector, Amazon, offers shipping alternatives which include same-day delivery. Amazon Prime members even enjoy options for the day as well, such as one-day and two-day deliveries. Both Prime Lite and non-Prime users have the option to avail of day and one-day delivery by paying a fee of ₹175 and ₹125, per item respectively. Prime Lite members enjoy the benefit of two-day delivery whereas non-Prime subscribers are required to pay ₹120 per item for this service.
