Pereira came through the Manchester United academy and was initially loaned out to several Spanish clubs like Granada and Valencia. After spending two years between 2018 and 2020 at the club, he spent last season on loan at Lazio and will now spend the upcoming season away in his home country of Brazil.

Pereira was born in Belgium, and represented them in the early stages of his career. However, he later opted to represent Brazil and has a solitary cap to his name from his debut in 2018.

Although Flamengo don’t seem to have an option to buy the player, Pereira’s contract expires in 2023 which could result in him permanently leaving the club soon. Flamengo are also in the pursuit of Chelsea midfielder Kennedy and hope to finalise his signing by the end of the transfer window as well.
