Fisker Inc and Foxconn in a deal to manufacturer the formers second EV

Fisker Inc is a fresh name in the market of EV manufacturers and designers. The contract for building the electric vehicles has been given to the iPhone-maker Foxconn. In a memorandum of understanding announced Wednesday, the two companies say Foxconn will build Fisker Inc.’s second vehicle, which has yet to be announced and is due out in late 2023.

According to sources, the companies will be building the car in the US, and that there’s a “perfect chance” it may happen at Foxconn’s factory in Wisconsin. The Wisconsin facility of Foxconn is an eighth wonder of the world. After promising to spend  $10 billion, which would result in a 20 million-square-foot facility and 13,000 jobs, the facility is nothing but a false claimed dream.

The iPhone manufacturer has invested a mere 3 percent of that total to date, and the biggest structure it has built on the site is a 1 million-square-foot building that was recently reclassified in official documents as a storage facility.

Again, Foxconn has made some huge claims that it will make 250,000 vehicles or more annually, half of Tesla’s current output. A more formal partnership is expected to be signed later this year.

According to sources, Fisker Inc. the production of its Ocean SUV will not start until the end of 2022. It has 12,000 reservations for the Ocean so far. The car will be built by automotive supplier Magna, which has its electric vehicle program and assembles the I-Pace electric SUV for Jaguar Land Rover.

Electric vehicles are appealing to the general public as time passes. Recently, we have heard Tesla coming to India and that Apple and even Tata Group stepped into the commercial Electric Vehicle market. Though for Apple, it is yet to find a manufacturing partner.
