We may have just caught our first glimpse of NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5090, which was seen operating in a GPU factory in Indonesia, likely a ZOTAC testing facility. We didn’t expect this until the weekend, but it looks like we are getting our first taste of what NVIDIA has for its flagship GPU in the RTX 50 series land. Although the pictures are blurry, they look legitimate.
The Leaked Video Featuring NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090
This spawned from a thread on Chiphell about the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 GPU inside containers during tests prior to shipment (via Olrak). Today a clip from the video by the GPU factory is posted up to Bilibili and it offers quite an interesting look at what NVIDIA does have coming up.
Interestingly enough, this factory serves as a loophole to U.S. sanctions, as noted in the video description. That same factory in Indonesia is equipped to send GPUs China-bound, which will also be the case for a GeForce RTX 5090.
Due to U.S. Graphics cards with performance equal to or exceeding the index 4090 on export from a chip-prohibiting country (China) is forbidden. In order to minimize the damage caused by RTX 5090’s debut, Bo Neng speedily set up a factory in Batam, Indonesia. The video shows the factory’s production line debugging, with the NVIDIA RTX 5090 graphics card lit up on the monitor.
It could be the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090, though its design does not match any current models that we know of. The first unofficial leak that happened long ago announced of RTX 4090 was still only speculation when the ZOTAC factory was identified as producing the custom variant existence back in September 2022.
We can also see ZOTAC’s logo printed on the center of the fan blades, hinting at a concerning supply chain and NDA bloop to not allow an image shot from this angle. The GPU looks huge in the images, with a 3D take that features triple fans for cooling and is powered by a single 12V-2×6 power connector. The video indicates the unit is operational, suggesting that AIB partners are likely in the trial testing phase before mass production begins.
It will be intriguing to see if this leak proves accurate when the official launch occurs. This situation poses a significant concern for NVIDIA, as it not only affects the next-gen launch but also raises questions about the enforcement of NDA agreements. NVIDIA is expected to unveil the GeForce RTX 50 “Blackwell” series at CES 2025, making this early sighting quite noteworthy.
