The highly anticipated American *Squid Game* spin-off, codenamed *Heckler*, has been officially scrapped by Netflix. Despite years of rumors, the dark vision from director David Fincher won’t materialize. Netflix is shifting its global strategy, moving away from massive franchise expansions toward smaller, localized adaptations. Fincher remains focused on his upcoming Cliff Booth project, leaving the deadly game behind for good.
