Square Enix just recently confirmed that the studio will be developing the remastered versions of the first six entries in the Final Fantasy Series. The remastering will be done as part of the Pixel Remaster series.
The news was revealed by the studio at the E3 2021, where the studio showcased a short trailer of its Pixel Remaster series. The first six entries of the series of the game which will be getting remastered by Square Enix as part of the Pixel Remaster series will have their original graphics preserved.
The games that inspired a generation come to life once more, in the ultimate 2D pixel remaster.
The trailer only reveals a few details about the remastered six games. however, the Pixel Remaster announcement trailer has shown that the character sprites will look much better than they did in the originals.
Some gaming enthusiasts at the RPG Site made a quick comparison that highlights the differences between the original and the new sprites. According to sources, the Pixel Remaster sprites look considerably better than those included in the Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI mobile and PC ports.
For now, the Final Fantasy: Pixel Remaster games have not yet received any release date for its PC, iOS, and Android. As for now, Square Enix has not released any information regarding the console release date of the remastered games.
