One of the main reasons Chelsea have pursued Filip Jorgensen in spite of having Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic is because of his ability on the ball. The Danish keeper is very comfortable with the ball at his feet and playing out from the back.
As a result, he could be a great fit for Enzo Maresca’s system, with both of their current options deemed not good enough. Whether or not Chelsea will offload Sanchez, Petrovic, Gabriel Slonina or Lucas Bergstrom remains to be seen.
However, having so many players for one position might not be the most sensible decision on the club’s part given how close they might be cutting it to PSR.
