FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022: The match schedule has been confirmed by FIFA

The World Cup is the biggest tournament in the world of football. All the fans and players wait for 4 years to watch all the top international teams compete with each other to lift the World Cup trophy.

FIFA have confirmed the match schedule of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. It’s still 2 years later but a big event like the World Cup needs many years preparation.

The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will start on Monday, 21st November 2022 at 13:00 AST (Arabian Standard Time). If you’re from India, IST is 2.5 hours ahead of AST. So, the opening match will kickoff at 15:30 IST. It will be held at Al Bayt Stadium, a 60,000-capacity stadium.

The final will be played at 80,000-seat Lusail Stadium at 18:00 AST (20:30 IST) on 18th December.

There will be 4 matches in a day during the group stage. The group stage will last for 12 days to provide all teams with optimal rest between their matches. FIFA said in their official statement: “The tournament’s compact nature – with no air travel needed to move between the venues – will allow organisers, for the first time, to optimise specific match demands for the benefit and comfort of fans, teams and media.”

FIFA further said: “For those eager to book their seats at Qatar 2022, hospitality sales are scheduled to start in late 2020. Ticket sales for the general public will be conducted solely via FIFA.com/tickets, where details on the timeline, phases, categories and prices will be communicated in due course.”

On 15th July 2018, France lifted the FIFA World Cup trophy. Exactly after two years, FIFA has confirmed the match schedule for the next event, FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
