A World Cup final between Lionel Messi’s Argentina and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal would be the dream match that everyone hopes for. And a supercomputer used by BCA Research predicted that the 2022 edition of the tournament would see these two teams reach the final.
Moreover, it also predicted that Argentina would defeat Portugal in the finals to add the most coveted prize in football to Lionel Messi’s trophy collection.

The supercomputer used the player stats from EA Sports’ FIFA games, while also analysing samples of matches from the last four tournaments.
Both the superstars will be heading to their fifth consecutive World Cup in a month’s time. And for Lionel Messi, it has been confirmed that it is his last appearance at the tournament.
“This will be my last World Cup — for sure. The decision has been made,” the Argentina captain said in an interview. He has earned 164 international caps and has scored 90 goals during his time with the national team.
Cristiano Ronaldo, on the other hand, has said that he plans to continue playing until the 2024 Euros. However, it could still be his last time playing in the World Cup since he will be 41 by the time the 2026 edition comes around.
