Let that sink in — **508 million ticket requests for just 7 million available seats** in a single four-week sales window. That’s a demand-to-supply ratio of over 72:1. Nothing in the history of sport comes close.

Gianni Infantino confirmed that 77 of the 104 World Cup matches each individually received more than one million requests — figures that make every previous FIFA World Cup edition look modest by comparison. Ticket applications poured in from over 200 countries, a testament to the truly universal language of football.

## Wait — Can You Still Get Tickets?

Here’s the important nuance. While Infantino declared the tournament sold out, **FIFA has deliberately withheld a portion of tickets** for a last-minute sales phase. This phase begins in **April 2026** and runs until the tournament’s conclusion on **July 19, 2026**, operating on a first-come, first-served basis.

So if you missed the main sales window, don’t give up hope just yet — but act fast when April arrives.
