EA Sports’ football-based video game FIFA has been a huge hit with the players over the years. They release a new version of the game around September-October each year. FIFA 22 has been relatively better gameplay-wise but the transfer market has been very low this year.
One of the major drawbacks of the FIFA video game franchise is the lack of cross-play. The game can be played on PC, Xbox and Playstation but cross-play isn’t available. The transfer market and all the online modes of the game were restricted to each specific platform.
However, many things are going to change in the upcoming FIFA 23 edition, which is expected to be the last game of this franchise. The current partnership between EA Sports and FIFA has been extended to cover World Cup but this year’s FIFA 23 could be the last game of the franchise to be released. Starting from July 2023, EA Sports will be launching EA Sports FC which will take the place of the football-based video game.
FIFA 23: Everything we know about cross-play and other features coming to the game
The most important change coming to FIFA 23 is the cross-play. Cross-play will be available for all the game modes, including the most popular Ultimate Team Mode as well.
Until FIFA 22, the next-gen gameplay was only available in Xbox Series S/X and PS5. But, from FIFA 23, the next-gen gameplay will be available on PC as well. However, cross-play will be available only in the next-gen FIFA 23, ie, in Xbox Series S/X, PS5 and PC. So, older generation Xbox and PlayStation will be missing out on cross-play.
Another good thing is that Juventus will be back in the game with the original name and crest. Piemonte Calcio won’t be used any further. However, the Japanese League will be removed from the game.
FIFA 23 will also have new animations. It will also include the World Cup mode as FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is scheduled to start on 21st November 2022 and the final will be held on 18th December 2022.
So far, things are looking great for FIFA 23 and with the inclusion of cross-play, it seems to be even more competitive and exciting than in previous years.
