VOLTA was introduced with FIFA 20 in an attempt to offer more to the players. It is a more realistic take on street football and has been received warmly by the fans.
Building on last year’s arrival, EA have introduced new groundbreakers into FIFA 21, and some of the names on the list will catch you off guard for sure.
To recruit the Groundbreakers, you must first beat them in a VOLTA FEATURED BATTLE in the VOLTA mode in FIFA 21.
Here are all the Groundbreakers confirmed by EA on their official website.
Kylian Mbappe
The cover star is deservingly on the Groundbreakers, given his unbelievable talent on the ball. The Champions League finalist almost won it all at only 21 and despite the loss against Bayern, he has fully earned his place among the greats.
Kaka
The legendary AC Milan and Real Madrid midfielder has been designated as a legend of the free-roam arena and has been newly introduced into the Groundbreakers this year.
Anthony Joshua
Transitioning from the boxing ring to the streets, Olympic gold medallist and two times unified heavyweight world champion has been newly introduced as part of the Groundbreakers amongst many great players.
Trent Alexander-Arnold
Right up there with the brightest wonderkids in the world, Trent Alexander-Arnold has enjoyed one of the most drastic rises to the top. Introduced as a new Groundbreaker in FIFA 21, the youngster’s career has been a dream run so far.
Thierry Henry
Arguably one of the best strikers in the history of the game, Henry rightfully finds his place among some of the best.
Diplo
If you’re a Diplo fan, and you happen to like FIFA, then this is a dream come true for you. For the neutrals, this is the most unexpected inclusion of all.
Joao Felix
The most expensive youngster in the world, Felix is poised to be one of the most unique stars in world football. The record signing is a worthy inclusion among the Groundbreakers this year.
Eric Cantona
With no rules attached, expect many many more flying kicks from the King as the newly inducted ICON makes his way among the Groundbreakers
FIFA 21 will be released globally on 9th October but you can access it on 6th October if you pre-order. For all the EA Play Pro subscribers, FIFA 21 will be available from 1st October itself.
