Ferland Mendy has signed a new deal with Real Madrid till 2027, confirmed by first team manager Carlo Ancelotti. The defender’s future was up in the air, with an exit rumoured for a while.
While an official announcement has not been made by the club yet, the manager’s confirmation is sufficient to end speculation about his future. The left-back has started six of Real Madrid’s seven games so far, and seems to have turned things around after being injury-prone in his first few seasons.

Despite the presence of Fran Garcia and David Alaba in the squad, Ancelotti has trusted Mendy to start. And the Frenchman has repaid his manager’s faith by putting up a strong showing since last season.
Mendy has won six major trophies during his five seasons in Spain: three La Liga titles, two Champions League titles and the 2023 Copa del Rey. He joined the club in 2019, and has had to fight hard to earn his place among the first team players.
Now, it remains to be if he stays at the club for the length of his contract by remaining injury free.
Madrid are currently unbeaten in LaLiga, but are behind Barcelona, who have won all six of their opening games and lead the table with 18 points to their name.
