Liverpool are close to completing the signing of Federico Chiesa from Juventus. The player was open to the move and the two clubs now have an agreement over a move.
The transfer fee finalised for the Euro 2020 star is a cut-price €13 million. Chiesa was informed early in the transfer window that he wasn’t a part of new Juventus manager Thiago Motta’s plans for the season, and was asked to find a new club. Now, he is set to join the Premier League.

The 26-year-old was hampered by an ACL injury which prevented him from building on his form at Euro 2024. This past season, he made 37 appearances across all competitions for the Bianconeri and scored 10 goals while providing one assist.
Over the last four years in Turin, he has made 131 appearances for Juventus, scoring 32 goals and providing 23 assists. Now, he will be signing a four-year deal with Liverpool to join the Merseyside club as their first new signing of the season.
Competition for playing time is fierce at Liverpool with Mo Salah, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo all in contention. However, with the volume of games to play this season, Chiesa might be a very effective rotational option with Salah or Diaz, especially in case of injuries.
