Fede Valverde reportedly punched Villarreal’s Alex Baena in the Santiago Bernabeu parking lot after a heated exchange on the pitch. Real Madrid were defeated 3-2 at home by the Yellow Submarine, and during the game, Baena’s comments infuriated the Uruguayan which caused him to act out.
After the game, Valverde waited in the parking lot and got into a scuffle with the player, which eventually escalated. His entourage have mentioned a very serious motive for the assault, which surprised the Villarreal players.
Fede Valverde punches Alex Baena over ‘messing with his family’
“In the Copa del Rey match, Baena kicked Fede and told him: ‘cry now that your son is not going to be born.’ That stayed there, but today he said another similar thing to him, and Fede got heated. So he waited for him in the parking lot and told him that he was ‘not messing with his family,’” Fede Valverde’s entourage revealed after being approached by Marca.
They acknowledged the assault, and also provided the explanation for it. Moreover, Baena also reportedly mocked Valverde with a crying gesture on the pitch which further infuriated the Real Madrid midfielder.
Valverde was close to losing his second son when his wife was pregnant. But, it eventually went well. The 24-year-old is known for his composure, and seeing him lash out is seemingly the result of the comments made at his family during the game.
