The Gaurs fought back to lead 2-1 at half time with goals from Armando Sadiku and Dejan Drazic cancelling out Hugo Boumous’ opener. Two penalties on either side of Rahim Ali’s goal for Odisha FC for either side dictated the final.
Sadiku scored a late penalty to ensure that the game would be decided via a shootout. Kattimani saved the efforts of Carlos Delgado and Ahmed Jahouh while Hugo Boumous missed his attempt entirely.
The Juggernauts will no doubt be disappointed at their performance in the shootout, but have plenty to be proud of after making it to the final. It will be interesting to see how they turn things around in the two weeks leading up to the start of the league.
