FC Goa and Bengaluru FC shared a point each in their 1-1 draw against each other in the ISL. Here are the three talking points from the game.
Sunil Chhetri becomes joint-highest ISL goalscorer
The Indian skipper finally has his 48th goal in the ISL, which sees him match Coro as the highest goalscorer in the history of the competition. While Coro did it in only 57 appearances, it has taken Chhetri over 100 appearances to do the same.
Chhetri had the chance to get all three points for his team, but his effort in the final seconds of the game brushed off the bar.
Another draw for both clubs
It was not the desired result for either club, but they will have to be content with a point each on the day. Bengaluru FC had the chance to build on their win against the champions, while FC Goa could’ve bounced back from their loss against East Bengal. However, neither team could take the opportunity presented to them.
FC Goa’s Fox named Hero of the Match
Dylan Fox scored the opener for FC Goa, and also put in a very good defensive shift against Bengaluru FC. As a result, he was rightly chosen as the Hero of the Match.
FC Goa will take on Jamshedpur FC in their next game, while Bengaluru FC have a big game against Chennaiyin FC in their next outing.
