Philippe Coutinho to FC Barcelona is one of the flop transfers in the recent past. The Brazilian has never capitalized on his full potential at FC Barcelona.
Philippe Coutinho joined FC Barcelona in 2018 from Liverpool FC. After exciting first 6 months with Blaugrana, the Brazillian lost his momentum and was sent to Bayern Munich on loan last season. He played a decent role in Bayern Munich’s treble-winning season but lost his place in the team to Thomas Muller who was in form of his life. Bayern Munich refused to buy the Brazillian midfielder after the end of the loan spell.
He came back to FC Barcelona completing a loan spell as new manager Ronald Koeman wanted him in the team. But the situation has not changed yet for him. In the meantime, Philippe Coutinho has already played 90 games for FC Barcelona. He has scored 24 goals for the club. The Spanish club has to pay another €20 million to Liverpool once Coutinho made his 100th appearances for them. It will increase the transfer value to €170 million.
FC Barcelona is in a search of a buyer for Coutinho in January. According to the source, they are desperate to sell him for just £45m. Multiple clubs all over Europe are interested in the service of the former Liverpool midfielder. Manchester United, Inter Milan, Arsenal are considering a move in January. He can be an excellent addition to any team.
