Unveiling the Name of BTS Members: The Faces Behind the Phenomenon
BTS, also known as Bangtan Sonyeondan or the Bangtan Boys, is a popular South Korean boy band that was formed in 2010. The group initially began as a hip-hop group, but their music has evolved over time to encompass various genres. Their lyrics touch on a range of subjects, including mental health, the struggles of adolescence, coming of age, grief, the pursuit of self-love, individuality, and the challenges that come with fame and success. In addition to their music, BTS’s discography and related work make references to literature, philosophy, and psychological concepts, and also feature an intricate alternate universe storyline.
In 2013, BTS made its debut under the management of Big Hit Entertainment with the release of their single album titled “2 Cool 4 Skool”. The following year, in 2014, the group released their first Korean-language studio album, “Dark & Wild”, and their first Japanese-language studio album, “Wake Up”.
The BTS band consists of Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, who co-write or co-produce much of their material. Here we present a detailed list of the BTS Members:-
1. Jeon Jung-kook (Jungkook)
Jeon Jung-kook, born on September 1, 1997, known by his stage name Jungkook, is a South Korean singer and a member of the popular boy band BTS, where he serves as a vocalist. As part of the group, Jungkook has contributed three solo tracks, which include “Begin” in 2016, “Euphoria” in 2018, and “My Time” in 2020, all of which have been chart-toppers on South Korea’s Gaon Digital Chart.
2. Kim Tae-Hyung (V)
Kim Tae-Hyun, professionally known as V, was born on December 30, 1995, and is a South Korean singer and a member of the boy band BTS. He has released three solo tracks under BTS since his debut with the group in 2013. These solo tracks, namely “Stigma” in 2016, “Singularity” in 2018, and “Inner Child” in 2020, all achieved positions on South Korea’s Gaon Digital Chart. In 2016, he contributed to the soundtrack of the TV series Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth, and in 2019, he released his first independent song, the self-composed “Scenery”.
3. Park Ji-min (Jimin)
Park Ji-min, who was born on October 13, 1995, is a popular South Korean singer and dancer known professionally as Jimin. He made his debut in 2013 as a member of the South Korean boy band BTS, which is under the management of the record label Big Hit Entertainment.
4. Min Yoon-gi (Suga)
Min Yoon-gi, who was born on March 9, 1993, is a renowned South Korean rapper, songwriter, and record producer known by his stage names Suga and Agust D. He debuted in 2013 as a member of the South Korean boy band BTS under the management of Big Hit Music. In 2016, he released his first solo mixtape titled “Agust D”, which was re-released in 2018 on digital download and streaming platforms.
The mixtape peaked at number three on the World Albums Chart Billboard. In 2020, Suga released his second solo mixtape titled “D-2”, which achieved significant success by peaking at number 11 on the US Billboard 200, number seven on the UK Albums Chart, and number two on Australia’s ARIA Album Chart. According to the Korea Music Copyright Association, Suga has credits for songwriting and production on over 100 songs, including Suran’s “Wine,” which won Best R&B at the 2017 Melon Music Awards and peaked at number two on the Gaon Music Chart.
5. Kim Seok-jin (Jin)
Kim Seok-jin, who was born on December 4, 1992, is a member of the popular South Korean boy band BTS. Professionally known as Jin, he is a singer and songwriter who has co-written and released three solo tracks with BTS: “Awake” in 2016, “Epiphany” in 2018, and “Moon” in 2020. All three tracks have charted on South Korea’s Gaon Digital Chart. In 2019, Jin released his first independent digital track called “Tonight”. He officially debuted as a solo artist in October 2022 with the release of his single, “The Astronaut”.
6. Kim Nam-Joon (RM)
Kim Nam-Joon, who was born on September 12, 1994, is a well-known South Korean rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He goes by the stage name RM (formerly Rap Monster) and is also the leader of the South Korean boy band BTS. RM made his solo debut with the release of his first mixtape, RM, in 2015. In 2018, he released his second mixtape, Mono, which became the highest-charting album by a Korean soloist in chart history at the time and peaked at number 26 on the US Billboard 200.
7. Jung Ho-seok (J-Hope)
Jung Ho-Seok, who was born on February 18, 1994, is a well-known South Korean rapper, singer-songwriter, dancer, and record producer, and he goes by the stage name J-Hope (stylized as j-hope). In 2013, he made his debut under the management of Big Hit Entertainment as a member of the South Korean boy band BTS.
