Ranked: The most expensive football stadium parking for fans in the Premier League

new study has revealed the UK football stadiums with the most and least affordable match day parking rates for fans!

Watching a football match live is an experience like no other. Standing in the stalls cheering on your favourite team, surrounded by fans alike, beats sitting at home or in a pub. However, when travelling to these games, there is always one nibbling problem, football stadium parking. It can be expensive or difficult to find. 

With this in mind, Nationwide Vehicle Contracts analysed each Championship and Premier League team’s stadium to reveal the average cost of official and unofficial match day parking. The experts at Nationwide Vehicle Contracts have also shared their top tips on travelling to and from sports events, so you can be prepared for your next game!  

The football stadium parking index for 2022

Nationwide Vehicle Contracts analysed each team’s website to discover the official recommended football stadium parking options and costs. Alongside this, the community tool Footyparking.com was also used to find unofficial match day parking options within one mile of the stadium.

Using both official and unofficial parking rates, an average cost of football stadium parking for each stadium in the Premier League has been revealed!

Brighton’s Falmer Stadium has the MOST EXPENSIVE parking for Premier League fans! 

At the top of the rankings with the most expensive football stadium parking in the Premier League, is Falmer Stadium known as the American Express Community (Amex) Stadium for sponsorship purposes. Home to Brighton & Hove Albion, fans can expect to pay £15 on average when driving to the stadium on match day. There are two nearby car parks which are recommended by the stadium and two additional unofficial car parks within one mile. Keep in mind that you must book a space in advance before arrival – so don’t be caught out! 

In second place is the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where Spurs’ fans can expect to pay £12.27 for parking. The stadium has no parking available for general admission fans, therefore they ​​encourage Members without parking not to drive to the stadium and to consider public transport.

Rounding up the top three is Leicester City’s King Power Stadium where match day football stadium parking will set you back £10.79. Fan’s that take their car can book parking in advance officially from the team’s site for £17 per car, or over 13 unofficial parking sites can be used nearby for a minimum of £4.57. 

Crystal Palace’s Selhurst Park has the CHEAPEST parking for Premier League fans! 

At the other end of the table is Selhurst Park, home to Crystal Palace. Whilst visiting this stadium, it is important to know that there is no football stadium parking available at this venue, so the club recommends finding on street parking close by. To make sure you secure a space, leave yourself plenty of time for parking and keep in mind that some on-street parking spaces are permit-only. However, if you are lucky enough to find a spot or decide to use one of the nine nearby unofficial car parks, you can expect to pay an average of £3.67 on match day.
