At least ten Apple products are apparently planned for delivery this year, with fresh product introductions appearing to be scheduled for each quarter of the year. A list from a variety of sources to present a provisional roadmap for the company’s launch intentions this year has been compiled, following months of rumors regarding many of Apple’s impending products. The time ranges listed below are based on information from dependable sources.
Apple’s First Half Of 2023
Apple’s plans for the first half of 2023 are obviously more detailed because these products are much further along in the development cycle. Since many of the Macs in Apple’s range now urgently require an upgrade, the first half of 2023 appears to be a Mac-heavy period for new goods. The fourth quarter of 2022 marked the first time in 22 years that Apple did not introduce new Macs.
First Quarter
- 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M2 Pro and Max chip options
- 27-inch external display with mini-LED panel
- Mac mini having M2 and Pro chip options
- Mac Pro with M2 Ultra chip
- New full-size HomePod
Apple is reportedly aiming to deliver redesigned 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models specifically around March, according to a rumor, although other sources have been hesitant to provide a more precise release date.
It is important to keep in mind that the current Mac Studio will have outdated chip hardware when the M2 Max MacBook Pro and the M2 Ultra Mac Pro are released later this year. As a result, the Mac Studio should also get a refresh, though there haven’t been any confirmed rumours of one up to this point. Along with the full-size HomePod’s rebirth, a new HomePod tiny with a more modern chip is also a possibility.
Second Quarter
- 15.5-inch MacBook Air with M2 and M2 Pro chip options
The sole product we are aware of in the works for the second quarter, which runs from May to August, will go into mass production in the first quarter of 2023 and be an entirely new 15.5-inch MacBook Air model. This date might point to a release that coincides with WWDC, which Apple typically holds in early June.
Apple’s Second Half of 2023
The timing of Apple’s launches in the second half of 2023 is less clear, but with the introduction of a completely new gadget category, it may end up being a key time for the business. The following two devices were installed indefinitely in the second half of the year:
- Mixed-reality headset
- Second-generation AirPods Max
It is important to note that only the official launch of Apple’s headset is supposed to occur in the second half of the year; mass manufacturing of the product is still anticipated to begin in the first half of 2023.
Third Quarter
- iPhone 15 Series
- Apple Watch Series 9
The third quarter of Apple’s schedule is usually always when the company delivers its most predictable products, and 2023 is likely to follow past years’ patterns with the September release of new iPhone and Apple Watch models. The Apple Watch Ultra may receive a 2023 refresh with a new chip as the Apple Watch Series 9 is expected to receive the first Apple Watch chip upgrade since the Series 5.
Fourth Quarter
- iMac with the M3 chip
- iMac Pro having mini-LED display with M3 Pro as well as Max chip options
- Seventh-generation iPad mini with new chip
Since 2001, Apple has always introduced new Macs in the fourth quarter; hence, it is commonly believed that the fourth quarter of 2023 could be dominated by the iMac, with two new models, one replacing the 24-inch iMac with the M1 processor from 2021 and the other reclaiming the title of high-end all-in-one held by the iMac Pro between 2017 and 2021.
Other than the iPad mini, there are no reports of any further iPad updates for 2023, suggesting that it might be some time until Apple releases a number of new tablets. Even the iPad mini may be delayed until the beginning of 2024.
