Spotify does make changes to its UI once in while, however, we have witnessed something weird this time, yes, a new UI from the music giant is being tested on its mobile app on selected accounts and that looks ugly.

Looking like a new form of Reels implementation to Songs and Albums, the UI could look good for a few but most would love Spotify‘s legacy UI. This preview is coming to selected users and while most of us did enjoy the old UI, @anupammodak02 did spot this as a Spotify Premium user and it’s exclusive to the mobile app only while the desktop app still enjoys the old UI.

Spotify’s new UI is kind of weird!

As you see in our app preview, the playlists recommended or those everyday radios curated by Spotify are in this new form which again is awkward. This takes more space and users have to scroll down further to see new recommendations daily which again seems to be very hectic.

Some might like this Story/Reel oriented design, but this is not the best version Spotify could have made a separate page for this but making this kind of big change on the home page will surely hurt user interaction with the app. While we understand the music streaming giant looks to bring a fresh feel to it but this will surely confuse a lot of people.
