Intel is gearing up to release its initial Core Ultra CPUs, codenamed Meteor Lake, on December 14th. However, Dell and Alienware are set to unveil their lineup featuring these cutting-edge processors in early 2024, just weeks after the official launch. Recent leaks, reported by Windows Report, provide insights into the specifications of these next-gen laptops.
The Leaked Dell and Alienware Laptops
Commencing with the Dell lineup, the company plans comprehensive upgrades across its XPS laptops. The Dell XPS 13 and XPS 14 models will showcase a more streamlined design but will incorporate the standard Intel Core CPU SKUs (Raptor Lake Refresh) and NVIDIA RTX GPUs. The higher-tier XPS 16 is set to receive the Meteor Lake treatment along with NVIDIA RTX 40 GPUs. The anticipated lineup is as follows:
- Dell XPS 13 (Raptor Lake Refresh with NVIDIA RTX GPUs)
- Dell XPS 14 (Raptor Lake Refresh with NVIDIA RTX GPUs)
- Dell XPS 16 (Meteor Lake Core Ultra with NVIDIA RTX 40)
Moving to the Alienware lineup, which includes m16 R2, m18 R2, and x16 R2, the Alienware m16 R2 is poised to feature Intel’s Core Ultra “Meteor Lake-H” CPUs paired with an RTX GPU. It will boast an updated chassis with enhanced cooling and introduce the new Stealth mode—a preset that reduces RGB, display brightness, CPU frequency, and fan speed to optimize the laptop for productivity with extended battery life. Users will also have the option to manually adjust these settings.
Another Meteor Lake-H laptop in the lineup is the Alienware x16 R2, representing a premium variant of the m16 with a high-end chassis and support for dedicated graphics. The Alienware m18 R2, a robust 18-inch design, will incorporate Intel’s 14th Gen Raptor Lake Refresh (HX) series CPUs and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 GPUs.
Geared towards the enthusiast gaming segment, this laptop is expected to deliver significant performance. While specific details on configurations such as memory, storage, display, and battery remain scarce, these laptops are projected to be available by January 11th, with more comprehensive information anticipated at CES 2024.
