After bursting to life in the transfer window, Everton are working to sign Idrissa Gana-Gueye from Paris Saint-Germain. The French club are open to letting the player go this summer, and a loan deal is being explored as of now.
PSG want his full salary paid by Everton in order to loan him out. So, negotiations are still going on to reach a conclusion for the deal. The player left Everton to join PSG in 2019, and could now be on the verge of a return as he is keen to play under Frank Lampard.
Idrissa Gana-Gueye open to Everton return
The 32-year-old is comfortable in possession, and would fit well into the system of football that Lampard is trying to implement at Goodison Park. He completed 93% of his passes this past season, playing 26 games as PSG won the Ligue 1 title.
He has also played in the Champions League, and will be returning a much better performer with experience at the top level behind him.
Everton have already signed James Tarkowski, Dwight McNeil and Ruben Vinagre to bolster their squad for the coming season. And Idrissa Gana-Gueye is next on their agenda. But despite being linked with a move for Chelsea’s Ross Barkley, it seems unlikely that they will push for the return of the attacking midfielder.
