Germany defeated Denmark 2-0 to seal their place in the quarter finals of Euro 2024, on the back of a brilliant performance. The hosts were on the attack throughout the game, and could have scored several more if they had been more clinical in front of goal.
While credit should be given to Kasper Schmeichel for making several important saves throughout the game, he had little to do when the goals were actually put through. Kai Havertz scored the opener from the penalty spot, after goals for both teams had been ruled out for offside by VAR. And later on, Jamal Musiala doubled up their lead to seal the win.

Nico Schlotterbeck’s opening goal was ruled out for the slightest of margins as per the semi-automatic offside technology. Joachim Anderson’s goal was also ruled out in the same way, but because Thomas Delaney was judged to be offside in the build-up, even though the ball hit a German player on its way to Andersen.
The Crystal Palace defender’s night took a nosedive as he conceded a penalty just a couple of minutes after his cancelled goal, with VAR penalising him for handball.
Havertz had several chances to double up his tally in the second half, including a couple of incredible 1v1 chances with Schmeichel. But, he just wasn’t able to find his composure to put the ball in the back of the net.
Germany were far the better team on the night, and have fully earned their place in the quarter finals. As things stand, their form makes them one of the favourites to go on and win the tournament too.
How many goals has Jamal Musiala scored in the Euros?
