England have made it to the quarter finals of Euro 2024, defeating Slovakia 2-1 at the end of extra time, with goals from Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham earning the big win.
The Three Lions were undone by a goal from Ivan Schranz, who rushed into the box to score in the first half.
Slovakia entered a position of significant advantage after their goal, and were willing to sit back and defend for the majority of the game. That strategy proved to be insufficient by the smallest of margins, with Jude Bellingham channeling his Real Madrid DNA to turn things around at the death.

England were unlucky to not score an equaliser earlier, given the number of times they came close to finding the back of the net. Phil Foden thought he had scored early in the second half, but was clearly offside when Kieran Trippier played the ball.
Harry Kane was also far from his clinical self, squandering a number of opportunities in front of goal. Declan Rice, similarly, struck the post from a well taken long range effort. But in the end, it was Bellingham who stepped up with just a minute remaining to score with a miraculous overhead kick.

Kane then turned his fortune around within the second minute of additional time, scoring a header from point-blank range after a free-kick to give his side the lead. And with the whites switching to a more defensive shape, Slovakia just couldn’t find a way past Jordan Pickford once again, and were heartbreakingly eliminated.
