The Netherlands have sealed their place in the quarter finals of Euro 2024 with a 3-0 win over Romania in their Round of 16 match.
Cody Gakpo scored the opening goal in the first half, producing a powerful near post finish to give his side the lead. He also played a big role in Donyell Malen’s first goal, showing incredible footwork to dribble the ball along the goal-side touchline before playing it perfectly for the Dortmund attacker to tap in.

Malen then showed incredible footwork to dribble past a pair of defenders and score the third goal himself, earning a deserved win for his side. Ronald Koeman’s side could have added many more goals, but were not clinical in front of goal.
However, all that matters is that they have picked up the win and outplayed their opponents on every front.
Cody Gakpo’s recent form will be a huge bonus for Die Oranje in the coming game, as they face either Austria or Turkey depending on the result of the last Round of 16 tie of the tournament. Despite the result, the Netherlands will head into the quarter finals as the favourites to make it to the last four as well.
