Euro 2024 Group stage action ended with a shocking result, as Georgia claimed their biggest ever win in the competition, defeating Portugal 2-0. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored his first goal at a major tournament two minutes into the game, before Georges Mikautadze converted from the penalty spot to double their lead.
In spite of an xG of around 1.88, more than Georgia’s 1.37, Portugal just couldn’t beat Giorgi Mamardashvili between the sticks, but have finished at the top of the group anyway.

Czechia needed to win against Turkiye to have any hope of making it to the last 16 of the Euros. But, a late goal from Cenk Tosun ended any hopes of them going through, as Turkiye sealed all three points.
As a result, they have qualified for the last 16 of the Euros by finishing second in their group and will now face Austria.
Portugal, on the other hand, have been drawn against Slovenia while Georgia face Spain in what will be an interesting watch after their most recent performance.
