Kylian Mbappe’s Euro preparation was hampered by a feud with France colleague Olivier Giroud. During France’s warm-up game against Bulgaria last month, Giroud accused Mbappe of failing to pass to him. The PSG star was alleged to be enraged that his teammate publicly chastised him.
The 22-year-old was not at his best as France was eliminated in the last-16 by Switzerland. Mbappe failed to score and missed the game-winning penalty as France was eliminated from the competition on Monday. Mbappe has reportedly had a falling out with Antoine Griezmann in recent months. According to L’Equipe, there was a lot of friction in the French camp, and the relationship between the two was far from cordial. Things went wrong between Griezmann and Mbappe. It was a difficult situation.
Griezmann has a lot of clout in the France team, and Didier Deschamps thinks highly of him. Mbappe is rumoured to be envious of his teammate’s position in the line-up.
