Erling Haaland has equalled Andrew Cole and Alan Shearer’s record of scoring 34 goals in a single Premier League season. The Manchester City striker achieved the feat within the first four minutes of the game, scoring from the spot against Fulham to equal yet another record.
And with six games still to play, you wouldn’t put it past him to reach the 40-goal mark by the end of the season.
Erling Haaland scores 50th goal of the season in Fulham win
The Norwegian has also scored his 50th goal of the season across all competitions, with the penalty. He has already become the Premier League player with the most goals across all competitions in a single season, and is extending the record to his will.
The last time a player scored 50 across all competitions while playing for a Premier League club was 92 years ago. Erling Haaland has also outscored as many as seven clubs this season, the likes of which include Chelsea, Wolves, Nottingham Forest, Everton and Southampton.
Pep Guardiola’s menacing new number 9 is being backed to score in every single game. And given the way he is performing, he could finally be the man that wins the Champions League for Manchester City. They are still in the running to win a historic treble like their neighbours, and could very well achieve the feat if they can continue their current form.
