Erling Haaland stepped onto the pitch against Brentford looking for a third consecutive hat-trick. However, even though ended up missing out on the incredible feat, he managed to break at 13-year record set by Wayne Rooney.
The Manchester United legend set a record for scoring the most goals in the first four matches of the Premier League season at eight in 2011-12. Haaland has now surpassed the English icon by scoring nine in the same span.

The Norwegian broke the record for the most goals scored in a single Premier League season in his first full campaign in England. He found the back of the net 36 times to break the record, and now seems set to surpass his own tally.
Things started in less than ideal fashion for City as Yoane Wissa scored within a minute of kickoff. However, Haaland would step up for his team once again, scoring both the equaliser and the goal to put them ahead.
Despite a strong start from Thomas Frank’s men, a brace from the City number 9 was enough to help them earn three points as their rivals faltered.
