Its no secret that Eric Garcia will be a FC Barcelona player in the upcoming season, playing for the team he left once back when he was at La Masia. He has even confirmed his joining himself in an interview with L’Esportiu.
When he was asked about his return to Barcelona, he said,”I have thought about my future, in which I believe that now is the best. I think it is a brave decision. I am convinced of the step I have made.”
Though we are not sure if Pep would risk him play for Manchester City’s crucial Champions Legue final against Chelsea but he will be included in the squad for sure. This is the reason why Barcelona haven’t declared his signing yet, else Garcia’s signing would have been declared earlier than this.
When he was asked about the possible comparison with Gerard Piqué and whether that scares him or not, he said,” The truth is, I take away the issue. Gerard has achieved everything, he is one of the best centre-backs in the world, he is more than recognized, and I am 20 years old, and I am practically starting my career. So the only possible comparison is this, that we are both from the quarry and we live in Manchester, but he to the team not so good. I have had more luck and have been able to play in the best team in Manchester. A pity for him.”
He is not the only Manchester City player who is set to join Manchester City because Agüero’s too will join Barca for free. Speaking on the number 9, Garcia said, “Kun is a phenomenon and a scoring machine. What has an age? Forget! Kun will score goals until he is 100 years old; he is a legend, a myth. And a fabulous partner. ”
It was sweet of Garcia to be grateful to Pep Guardiola, who genuinely wanted Eric to stay at Manchester City, but he wanted to return to his home club; also he was grateful to the city Manchester, where he has become a man.
