Manchester United are prepared to offload Eric Bailly this summer. An agreement is in place with Olympique Marseille for a loan deal, with an option to make the transfer permanent next summer.
The Premier League club have signed Lisandro Martinez to bolster their defense, and are keen to trim the squad. Bailly has been impressive in some appearances, but his injury record and fitness issues have prevented him from making a big impact with them. So, he is on his way out of Old Trafford in the coming days.
Eric Bailly to leave Manchester United for Marseille
Only personal terms need to be sorted out between Eric Bailly and Marseille for the move to go through. The player wants the move, and it seems only a matter of time before the Ivory Coast defender makes the move to France.
It remains to be seen whether Manchester United will add another centre-back to their squad this summer. They have added Martinez and Tyrell Malacia in defense, but are seemingly short-staffed in the central area.
With Bailly leaving, a new centre-back could be recruited in the final few days of the transfer window. Manchester United recently confirmed the arrival of Casemiro from Real Madrid, which should help them improve their midfield to a great degree.
The Brazilian’s arrival will be complete once he passes his medical and is given the visa to play in England.
