Entry-level AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT launched for $199

Finally, the highly-anticipated entry-level AMD Radeon RX 6500XT graphics card has been launched at CES 2022 and it is a perfect solution for gamers who have been hunting for a new budget GPU for 1080p gaming. It has been priced at $199 and availability starts from January 19th onwards.

This GPU and its brother RX 6400, also launched at the same event, is based on AMD RDNAâ„¢ 2 gaming architecture and offer high-bandwidth, low-latency AMD Infinity Cacheâ„¢ memory technology and high-speed GDDR6 memory.

They also support Microsoft Windows 11 and Microsoft DirectX® 12 Ultimate, AMD FidelityFXâ„¢ Super Resolution (FSR) upscaling technology and other advanced features that provide visually stunning, high-refresh-rate gaming experiences.

The AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT graphics card delivers up to 35 percent faster gaming performance on average in 1080p resolution with high settings compared to the competitive offering, while the AMD Radeon RX 6400 graphics card is designed to offer incredible 1080p gaming in OEM systems.

These Navi 24 GPUs becomes the first AMD GPUs to be using 6nm process technology for exceptional performance and power efficiency, the AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT and Radeon RX 6400 graphics cards bring incredible gameplay and advanced AMD Radeon features to legions of new and existing PC gamers.

The AMD Radeon RX 6500XT will retail at 199 USD and it will be available on January 19th and will boost up to 2.6 GHz in game mode. Like the leaked specs, the Navi 24 GPU will feature 1024 Stream Processors paired with 18 Gbps 4GB GDDR6 memory, this should be decent enough for 1080p gaming and add AMD’s new Radeon Super Resolution, which will really help gamers.

On the other hand, the Radeon RX 6400 card will be preserved exclusively for OEMs and is another cut-down Navi 24 GPU, coming with 768 Stream Processors and 4GB GDDR6 memory. The GPU archives a 16 Gbps memory speed along with a 64-bit memory bus, overall, for an entry-level OEM Gaming PC, the GPU should do well.
