England have made it to a second consecutive European Championship final, defeating the Netherlands 2-1 in the semis. Ollie Watkins proved to be the difference maker, coming off the bench to score a 90th minute winner for the Three Lions.
Cole Palmer provided the assists for Watkins’ goal, with the two supersubs combining to deliver a knockout blow with no time left. Now, they have a chance to write history and turn things around after the painful defeat in Wembley Stadium three years ago.

Xavi Simons opened the scoring quickly into the game for the Netherlands, launching an absolute rocket from far out. With the strike, he extended his tally to a goal and three assists in the Euros.
However, a controversial VAR decision allowed England a penalty shortly after, and Harry Kane made no mistake from the spot to level things up. The Dutch started sitting back after the two goals in the game, and were pegged back by England, with Phil Foden the most prominent attacking threat in the first half.
However, both teams were careful not to make any mistakes in the second half, resulting in a cagey affair till Watkins turned the tide in England’s favour.
The Three Lions will now face Spain for a chance to make history on Sunday, 14 July 2024.
Who is the Euro 2024 top scorer?
Cody Gakpo, Harry Kane, Georges Mikautadze, Jamal Musiala, Dani Olmo and Ivan Schranz – all with three goals.
