Fulham have agreed a club record deal to sign Emile Smith-Rowe from Arsenal. The midfielder will make the move across London for a fee worth £34 million, the highest-ever in the Cottagers’ history.

The deal consists of a fixed amount of £27 million, with the rest available in the form of add-ons. Smith-Rowe has accepted the offer as well, and will soon travel to complete the medical tests and formalities to finalise the transfer.

Emile Smith-Rowe to join Fulham from Arsenal

Smith-Rowe was one of the first major revelations when Mikel Arteta took charge of the Gunners. However, a number of major injuries detailed his career in the years that followed. With the brilliant performances from Martin Odegaard in the number 10 position, Emile Smith-Rowe was no longer a regular in the team.

Now, the 24-year-old has seemingly decided to leave and earn more game time to resurrect his career. Although he has shown his quality before, he will need to stay consistent at Fulham if he is to return to his best self.

The Arsenal academy product will vacate the number 10 shirt upon his departure, and it now remains to be seen whether Arteta addresses his departure by turning to the transfer market or relying on the likes of Kai Havertz and Fabio Vieira.
