West Ham United and Chelsea have reached an agreement for the transfer of Emerson Palmieri. The player has reached an agreement on personal terms with the Hammers as well. And now, the transfer has received the here we go signal from Fabrizio Romano too.
The fee agreed for the left-back is £13 million upfront plus £2 million in add-ons. Emerson has agreed a contract with the Clarets until 2027, and the first part of the medical has been completed as well. Once the formalities have been completed, the transfer will be made official by both clubs.
Emerson Palmieri to join West Ham United
The Italian spent the last season on loan at Lyon, where he had an impressive spell. Chelsea tried to bring him back in January, but could not convince the French club to let him go.
Following the arrival of Marc Cucurella from Brighton, it seems unlikely that Emerson will get a lot of playing time. The Italian is down in the pecking order alongside Marcos Alonso, and both of them are expected to leave this summer.
It is now only a matter of time before Emerson reunites with Kurt Zouma at the London Stadium. On the other hand, Marcos Alonso’s move to Barcelona is on standby until they can register the left-back.
