The 32-year-old had a number of offers on the table, including a renewal from Jamshedpur FC and an offer from Punjab FC. But, he decided to turn them down in favour of a move to South India.

The club has been very active in the transfer market, after making it to the top six of the ISL. They were, however, eliminated in the first fixture against FC Goa.
Alongside Elsinho Dias, the club has signed Laldinpuia and Daniel Chima from Jamshedpur FC. They have also signed Mandar Rao Desai from East Bengal to bolster their defence, with their squad already looking much better.
Over the next few weeks, Chennaiyin FC are expected to add a new goalkeeper to their squad after Debjit Majumder’s return to East Bengal. Mumbai City FC’s Mohammad Nawaz is one of the top names on the club’s list – and it now remains to be seen whether they can continue their hot streak in the market.
