Tesla is the brand known for its Electric Vehicles and the innovations it brings in that field. it is led by none other then the genius Elon Musk. Now according to sources, after having a successful year and raking in huge profits, Musk has now become the second-richest person in the world. Earlier, the position was held by none other than Bill Gates, but now the title belongs to Elon Musk. According to sources, the total net worth ok Musk increased not only due to the performance of Tesla but also due to the unprecedented growth shown by SpaceX.

At the start of this year, Musk ranked 35th in Bloomberg’s Billionaire Index list of top 500 billionaires in the world. But reports indicate that by selling more than 300,000 Tesla cars and launching numerous rockets to space, Musk boomed through the position. Elon Musk has pushed his net worth from $7.2 billion to a whopping of $127.9 billion.

Sources claim that the current year saw an increase of more than $100 billion to Musk’s net worth. The tremendous growth is accredited to surge in Tesla’s stock prices and the Tesla chief is the only one on the list who earned this much money this year.

The bigger news is that Musk managed to push down Bill gates to third position. It is only the second time in eight years that Gates has been ranked lower than the second position. But let’s not forget that Gates donated much of his earnings in charity. And if he had not done that than his current net worth would have been way more than just $127.7 billion. And as everyone might have guessed the top position is held by none other than Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos who has a net worth of ultra-whopping $182 billion.
