Musk shared this update in a post on X mentioning, “Grok will be enabled for all premium subscribers (not premium+) this week.” While he did not mention a launch date it is expected to happen before April. Currently active in 48 countries including India it is anticipated that all regions will see Groks expansion to the Premium tier.
In India, a Premium+ subscription on X costs ₹1,300 per month or ₹13,600. In contrast, the Premium tier is priced at ₹650 per month or ₹6,800 annually. Currently, the extra perks included in the Premium+ level consist of access to Grok, a browsing experience of ads (with ads compared to Premium and Basic) the highest increase in replies across all levels, and the ability to create and share articles directly on X.
Moreover, Premium users will also be able to enjoy Grok access, with this upgrade. The chatbot, developed by Musk’s AI firm xAI, was introduced in early access to X’s Premium+ users in the US in December 2023. It is presently available in 48 countries. Constructed upon the AI firm’s proprietary large language model (LLM) Grok-1, it can engage in conversations, generate content, and respond to queries like most chatbots. The company affirms that the foundational model was not pre-trained on any data extracted from X.
