Barcelona have defeated Real Madrid in the first El Clasico of the new campaign, winning 3-0 against their rivals in the USA. Although it was a preseason game, it offered an entertaining display between two of the biggest clubs in the world. And on the day, Los Blancos were unable to get the better of their arch rivals.

The scoring opened in the 15th minute with Ousmane Dembele finding the back of the net. The winger has been linked with a move to PSG, but for the time being, remains with the Barcelona camp. Xavi also offered his comments on his future after the match, saying anything could happen in the transfer market. As a result, these might be the last few games that the winger plays for the Blaugranas.

Ronald Araujo conceded a penalty via handball, which gave Carlo Ancelotti’s side the perfect opportunity to find a way back into the game. But, Vinicius Jr’s effort rattled the crossbar and bounced back, squandering the chance.

Near the end of the first half, Eder Militao committed a rash tackle which caused both sets of players to engage in a war of words, which is to be expected in an El Clasico.
