Barcelona president Joan Laporta has called for a replay of El Clasico if the club finds that Lamine Yamal’s goal crossed the line, and was not given. The game between Spain’s two biggest teams ended 3-2 in favour of Real Madrid, leaving Barcelona 11 points behind the league leaders and out of the title race.
Since LaLiga doesn’t have goal line technology anymore, the clubs have been making do with VAR to decide if goals are given. And El Clasico had its own controversy this time around, with Yamal’s goal not being given as it hadn’t crossed the line according to the referees.

Fans have been left outraged at LaLiga’s lack of goal line technology, considering how important it is. League president Javier Tebas opted to not use the tech anymore at the start of the season, and it could have led to a huge moment in the title race after Sunday’s El Clasico.
Jude Bellingham stepped up to score the match winning goal in extra time, earning all three points at home and completing the league double over their rivals. Barca, however, were just not as good on the pitch.
And even if the evidence is analysed and it is found that Yamal scored, the probability of LaLiga sanctioning a replay is still relatively low.
