Eintracht Frankfurt defeated Barcelona 3-2 in their second leg Europa league quarter final fixture at Camp Nou. The Bundesliga side won the tie 4-3 on aggregate, after the first leg ended 1-1 at the Deutsche Bank Park.

The visitors gained the advantage in the fixture early on, with Eric Garcia conceding a clear penalty within the first couple of minutes of the game. The centre-back hauled Lindstrom down in the box, and Filip Kostic sent Marc Andre ter Stegen the wrong way to open the scoring.

Rafael Borre scored an absolute thunderbolt shortly after the hour mark to send his side 2-0 up by the time the two teams went back into the tunnel. And a heated second half would follow.

Filip Kostic doubled his lead in the 67th minute, slotting the ball into the back of the net following a throw-in. Barcelona were way too slow to react, and ended up conceding the decisive goal in the game.

The Blaugrana showed signs of life late in the game as Sergio Busquets scored from close range. The Barca captain was denied earlier in the game as he was offside, but the second time counted as he brought his side right back into it.

Obite N’Dicka would then be sent off for conceding a penalty, as he was already booked five minutes ago. Memphis Depay converted from the spot ten minutes into stoppage time, but the deficit was too much to overturn for Barcelona.
